David Newton
Managing Director

David is the founding Director of Westminster Broking House and is a National Board Director of the National Insurance Brokers Association.

David has worked in the Insurance Industry for 41 years, (39 years as an insurance broker). David is experienced in all facets of insurance and has worked with a host of major clients who represent a whole spectrum of commercial and corporate activities. David specialises in the business sectors of Mining, Industrial and Biotechnology for both Public and Private Corporations throughout Australia and Overseas.

David is a Qualified Practising Insurance broker, a winner of the NIBA Lex McKeown trophy, a Commissioner for Declarations and has obtained his Insurance Broking Diploma under the Financial Services Reform Act.

David receives support from team colleague Deborah Bennetto.

David Rogers
Executive Director

Having joined in 1989, David became a Director in 1994. He has brought to the company experience in a wide range of industries with particular emphasis in industrial corporations, mining and offshore operations, and the rural industry.

David has responsibility for some of the largest clients within the Company and has created some unique and complex insurance programs. He has recently developed some creative markets to respond to the emerging importance and impact of EBA agreements. These programs are generally negotiated in the Sydney or London insurance markets.

David has worked in the insurance industry for 28 years, the first 9 of those years were with major insurance companies and the last 19 years have been with Westminster Insurance.

David is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, a Commissioner for Declarations, and has obtained his diploma qualifications under the new Financial Services Reform Act.

Lindsay Piggott
Executive Director

Commenced with Westminster in 2000 and has been a director Director since June 2006. In addition to being among the few West Australian Insurance Brokers to obtain their National Workers Compensation Accreditation, Lindsay has been involved in the General Insurance Industry for in excess of 26 years as both an Insurance Underwriter and Broker. With this exposure comes an extensive knowledge of the Insurance Market and Insurance Company procedures.

During the last ten years, Lindsay has been a devoted Professional Broker to Commercial and Corporate clients with specific emphasis on Workers Compensation and Legal Liabilities, including policy drafting and contract review and negotiations.  Niche specialities include Northwest Risks, Forestry and Horticulture.

Terry Miles

Account Manager

Terry Miles joined Westminster in December 1989, initially as Claims Manager and for several years as a Senior Account Executive.

He has worked in the Insurance Industry for over 30 years in which time he has gained experience in all facets of insurance, including claims, underwriting, reinsurance, broking and assessing.

Terry is an Affiliate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Commissioner for Declarations.
 
Les Mills

Manager – Professional & Financial Risks

Les commenced his insurance career in  1986 and has been both an underwriter and a broker.

He has specialised in the Liability arena since the mid 1990's, including 3 years spent managing the Sydney Professional and Financial Risks division of an International broking house. Les has designed and managed insurance programs for some of Australia's largest and well known companies such as Woolworths, QBE Insurance and James Hardie to name a few together with a large number of publicly listed companies such as Aristocrat Leisure, Metcash, Salmat, Sirtex, Peptech, Hamilton James & Bruce, Stadium Australia Management and Quay Magnesium.

Matthew Reading

Account Manager
Diploma Financial Services (Insurance Broking)

Matthew is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker and has recently joined Westminster as an Account Manager.

He has 20 years experience in the insurance industry in both underwriting and broking.

Matthew's specialist industries include; plant hire, earthmoving operators, transport and logistics, labour hire and heavy engineering.
 
Matthew can advise on the appropriate insurance program design, developing a suitable marketing strategy and placement of the program to ensure a comprehensive and competitive program is arranged.
